New Year, New Lens

Hi there! I was going to post sooner, preferably before the year ended, but alas, the last stand of influenza 2012 caught me on Christmas Day and is only just weening itself out, leaving behind a very unpleasant cough before it decided to go. Thanks flu bud, really appreciate that.
Besides from that, I had a good Christmas. I got a 50mm lens and I'm already feeling more portable. I also got a snazzy new watch and I'm also already feeling ready to tell any passer by the time.
I'm really hoping that having such a portable and easy lens to carry around will be I'll be able to post more relevant photos of my daily life, but, there's no doubt that this year I am going to be one busy mama, with GCSEs, choices and even AS levels (crap) looming their heads left right and centre (excuse the cliché), but I am going to try to be a more 'well rounded person', and by that I mean 'Emily for god's sake please make time for everything and everyone immediately'. In a good way. If that's possible.
On another note, my mum literally just walked in and looked at me wearing jeans and a school trip hoodie from 2010 and said 'so is this the year of jeans and a sweater for you?' and I replied 'Possibly'. She then said 'Good, I like it when you dress like that.' My mum obviously cannot denote my sarcasm very well, so Mum, if you're reading this, I'm sorry to disappoint you but this will probably only happen when I'm ill or revising.
And finally, Oscar Wilde once said 'The world was my oyster but I used the wrong fork' So if you have also been using the incorrect fork to eat an oyster with, use the right fork in 2013 and beyond. In other words, I hope you all have a great year and achieve incredible things.
