Literally loving LFW so far, one of my favourite season's ever!
Pastel colours such as blush pink, duck egg blue and very subtle yellow have made their mark and are teamed either with watercolor inspired prints or with each other gradually faded into each other as seen in Johnathan Saunders, Matthew Williamson, House of Holland and Emilia Wickstead. Gold details have also crept up, especially in the Topshop Unique show, they every painted their hair with gold! It looked incredible!
The 1930's/1940's silhouette has also made it's way back in with many dresses flaring out from the hip, also seen at Johnathan Saunders and Acne.
Bursts of neon yellow/green also seem to be popping up everywhere, especially at Sass and Bide.
Also looks like white is the new black for S/S '12 with Antonio Berardi, Sass and Bide and Emilia Wickstead all opting for a clean cut white with neat seams and both a-symmetric and symmetrical styles.
Another update for the rest of fashion week soon!
p.s 11 is my favourite!

Nelly the Elephant

A few days ago I was sent this beautiful elephant pendant from yourfashionjewellery.com. It has a lovely burnt gold effect, almost antique and vintage. What I like most about it though is that it's so much larger and better quality than most pendants out there at the moment. A majority of pendants you find now-a-days are tiny little bad quality things that break within a few days, but this already feels much stronger and better quality. The little ruby colored gem on the elephants forehead is also so cute and I really think that it finishes off the piece in a lovely way and makes it feel very Indian inspired.
And how sweet are the little tusks and trunk?!
Lovely all in all!

Back of the train station

Shirt- Topshop; Skirt- Urban Outfitters; Creepers- Topshop; Bag- Primark.
This is what I wore the other day on a trip to town with my good friends Ellie and Grace. This is my new Urban Outfitters skirt that is yet another piece which I think is going to go with pretty much every single top in my wardrobe. The button at the bottom pulls away a bit so I'm going to have to re-sew it and put in a couple of poppers but apart from that it fits perfectly and the cord material 'catches' the light nicely.
Just realised I used the same picture twice, ah man.

MTWTFSS

Shirts; Weekday (MTWTFSS)
Everyone loves a good Scandinavian clothing company, including me. Their pieces are always so simple but hit the nail right on the head when it comes to style, shape, practicality and mainly, colour.
But also, everyone hates Scandinavian clothing companies, including me. They don't really have shops in the UK and they don't ship abroad which is extremely aggravating as the actual clothes themselves aren't that expensive (think New Look prices).
I've always wanted a shirt from Weekday and seeing that beautiful lilac one makes me want to cry that I can't have it realistically.
But, there is hope. Pretty much all of my favourite Scandinavian clothing companies that anyone over here has remote interest in are actually owned by H&M. So that's, Weekday, Cheap Monday and Monki AND H&M have been looking into expanding Monki into the UK! They have already opened in Selfridges in London which I'm hoping to go to at some point and buy a few bits while I can. I'm just hoping that they will expand even more and become a somewhat nationally known brand like UO or H&M themselves.
So what do you think of Scandinavian clothing? Think they should expand to the UK or stay put?

Guest post - Mia from All the Toppings

Today there's something a little bit different on offer. Today the gorgeous Mia (her hair is lush) from All the Toppings is guest posting here at Emily the brave. So anyway, enough of my hooflab; go for it Mia!

Hello!! I'm Mia and I am the writer of All The Toppings! You could say I'm a reasonably new blogger since I've only been writing my blog for a few months now and you can probably tell by the overused amount of exclamation marks that I am very excited to be doing a guest post here at Emily the brave. I mostly write about fashion but I'm big on retro and d.i.y and have started to include a little about homeware in my blog. So now with no need for further introduction, here is my outfit post!
Kitted Jumper- Carboot Sale; Leggings- New Look.
How unique is the pattern on these leggings? They're a kind of velvet material but stretchy as well, I was so thrilled when I picked up the last pair in New looks January sale. They're a little biker chick but I suppose they work well with this jumper. And what about that? This jumper may perhaps be my second favourite item in my wardrobe (second of course to my denim shirt). I would now like to take this opportunity to thank the old woman who sold me this a-little-too-big-for-me-but-I'll-pass-it-off-as-oversized knitted jumper for 60 pence at a car boot sale. I'm sure it will succeed in keeping me warm during those cold winter days. This jumper is especially super during Christmas; it can take you through to night time with a belt, shorts and some knitted tights. And what makes it better is that it's vintage. Everyone thinks vintage is cool don't they? I'm all for sustainable fashion!

It is surprising how many different looks you can make with just this one jumper, I would love to hear your thoughts. So the message is.......go and buy jumpers from old ladies before all the car boot sales end haha! Thank you for reading and thank you Emily for giving me the chance to post on your lovely lovely blog!

Hi there again, it's Emily. Wasn't that awesome? I think I've re-read it five times or something stupid like that because I love it so much. Mia's blog is so god damn awesome, one of my personal favourites, and this girl can really write an interesting and detailed post with the best photos.
P.S Dyed my hair back to dark brown, will show you all soon!

Silky Silver

Shirt (worn with white top underneath)- H&M; Leggings- Next(?!); Creepers- Topshop; Ear Cuff- ASOS.
Some people probably think that I'm mental for wearing an ear cuff like this, I mean, it's not exactly the most subtle piece of jewellery the world ever did see is it? I love the way it looks with a top knot or a side plait and I think it goes perfectly with this silk shirt and my creepers. What do you guys think? Would you wear it or give it a miss? I'd love to know your opinions!
And yes, to you eager eyed people, it is the one I drew in this post.
P.S From now on my 'outfit posts' are labelled 'lookbook'.
